Course info
Course map for the 2023 event. L = start, M = goal and event office, H1-4 are service points. OH is the self-service point.
Height profile (2016).
The course is about 65 km long and the total ascent is about 1200 meters. The height difference is about 250 meters. The final ascent alone is more than 200 meters!
100 km course (30 km loop + a little extra + 65 km loop) is about 100 km long and the total ascent is about 1800 meters.
Most of the course is somewhat narrow single track apart from the first ~10 km. There are some very minimal and short gravel road sections in between. There's almost no rest from the singletracks! Also some boardwalks/duckboards exist along the course. The course gets more rocky and rooty towards the end, not to mention the final climb, so we advise you to try save some energy till then.
There will for sure be enough challenge to even a very experienced mountain bikers, however the course can be completed also with just basic mountain biking experience. No competition experience or license is needed. Use of helmet is necessary.
A skilled & very fit rider can complete the course with a rigid mountain bike, but we do recommend a proper suspended mountain bike. We advise you not to use cyclocross bikes, but any (wo)man-powered bicycle is allowed. There is no insurance provided to the participants from the organizers, so every participant should take care of his/her own insurance.
